What’s the difference between an agreed value and market value policy?

Agreed value is the amount that we agree to insure your motorcycle for. The agreed value includes:

  • Any modifications, options or accessories that are attached to your vehicle
  • GST
  • Registration and any CTP insurance
  • Other on-road costs.

Market value is our assessment of the value of the motorcycle, at the time of a claim. To assess the value, we use things like local market prices, and the age and condition of your vehicle. The market value includes:

  • Any modifications, options or accessories that are attached to the vehicle
  • GST
  • Registration and any CTP Insurance
  • Other on-road costs.

Market value is only available for our Comprehensive Motorcycle Insurance policy, and is only used for Third Party Property Damage Motorcycle Insurance when we are calculating loss under the ‘Uninsured motorist damage’ additional benefit.
