Classic, veteran and vintage motorcycles have special definitions.
Classic motorcycles are at least 15 years old (and need to be recognised by us to be covered).
A veteran motorcycle was made before 1919.
Vintage motorcycles were made between 1919 and 1930.
We can cover your motorcycle for wedding hire, special occasions, hobbies or recreation if it’s for personal use.
You're covered if you use your motorcycle up to 2 days a week and ride it less than 9,000km a year. (Unless we agree.)
See our Product Disclosure Statement for more details.
Important note for customers in NSW, QLD, TAS & ACT. If you purchased your policy before 21 April 2024 and you either haven't renewed it yet or you last renewed it before 1 July 2024, your cover will be different to the cover described above. Read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) relevant to your policy on our policy booklets page, or call us on 132 132 for more information.
We may not cover you for some severe weather events during an embargo period (which is usually when we know a severe weather event is about to occur). We’ll tell you if there’s an embargo when you purchase your policy.
We don’t cover some personal items, like cash, mobile phones or accessories fitted to your motorcycle. We only cover personal items that are stolen from a locked compartment of your motorcycle during an attempted theft we cover.
