What do specialist hail repairers do?

Our partner specialist hail repairers are specially trained to fix all types of hail related damage. They use both paintless dent repair and conventional methods to repair damage caused by hail.

What is paintless dent repair?

Paintless dent repair is an innovative repair process that removes dents by gently massaging the dented area back to its original shape without damaging the paintwork or needing to respray your car.

With paintless dent repair, you get the benefits of:

  • A quick and simple quoting method
  • Faster repair times
  • Lower repair costs
  • A less invasive process than conventional panel beating and spray painting.

The paintless dent repair process allows repairers to complete a quote, assessment and repairs in a shorter period, meaning you can be back on the road in days instead of weeks.

Do I have to take my vehicle to a specialist hail repairer for inspection?

You’ll need to take your vehicle to a specialist hail repairer centre to have it inspected. If you’ve chosen to use a repairer outside our partner network, you'll still need to have your vehicle inspected by one of our partner specialist hail repairers.

What happens when I arrive at the specialist hail repairer centre?

At the specialist hail repairer centre, you’ll check-in your vehicle and be invited to take a seat in a waiting area.

The specialist hail repairer will assess your vehicle and complete a mark-up sheet highlighting the damaged areas. After the assessment, they’ll discuss the repairs process with you and book your vehicle in for repairs.

What happens if my vehicle is not drivable?

If your vehicle is not safe to drive, we can arrange for it to be towed to a holding yard where our assessors will determine if it can be repaired. After assessment, we’ll let you know the next steps.

My windscreen was broken during a hail storm, what should I do?

Get in touch with our claims team on 131 123. Depending on the damage, we may be able to organise a glass replacement. We can also arrange a tow, so our assessor can inspect the vehicle.

If your vehicle is so severely damaged that it can’t be fixed, it will be declared a total loss. We’ll attempt to settle your claim through your policy conditions as soon as possible.

How do I get my car inspected?

When you make a claim for hail damage, we’ll arrange for one of our specialist hail repairers to get in touch and schedule an inspection for a time that suits you. To make a claim, call us on 131 123.
