What payment methods do you accept?

Your options vary depending on how you choose to pay and the type of policy you have.

Online account

Visa and Mastercard

For all policies.

American Express, PayPal1, Apple Pay and Google Pay

For all policies except:

  • Business, and CTP Insurance policies
  • Policies in NSW, QLD, TAS or the ACT that were last renewed before 1 July 2024
  • Policies in NSW, QLD, TAS or the ACT that were first purchased before 21 April 2024 and not yet renewed.

Direct debit

Direct debit is not available for travel and CTP Insurance.

Otherwise, you can choose to pay fortnightly, monthly2, quarterly or annually via Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or your nominated bank account except:

  • Business Insurance policies
  • Policies in NSW, QLD, TAS or the ACT that were last renewed before 1 July 2024
  • Policies in NSW, QLD, TAS or the ACT that were first purchased before 21 April 2024 and not yet renewed.

Pay or renew now

BPAY

Log in to your online banking and go to BPAY bill payments. Enter the biller code and your reference number (find it next to the BPAY logo on your policy document). It can take up to 3 days for us to receive your BPAY payment.

Over the phone

Automated phone payments can be made by Visa and Mastercard by calling 131 144.

In person

Payment methods vary at NRMA branches or Australia Post Offices.

Things you should know

1 PayPal is also not available for travel insurance.

2 Visa and Mastercard can be used for monthly payments for all policies where direct debit is available.
