Am I covered for taxi or cab fares to get home from an accident scene or an assessment booking?

If you have Comprehensive cover (including Comprehensive Plus and Comprehensive Basics), and the incident you're claiming for is covered under your policy, you can claim taxi fares or rideshare service fees for getting home from an accident, or getting to and from your repairer or hire car provider.

Depending on your level of cover, you can claim these costs of:

  • Up to $250 if you have Comprehensive Plus
  • Up to $150 if you have Comprehensive
  • Up to $75 if you have Comprehensive Basics.

If you are more than 100kms from home and your car can’t be driven after an incident we cover, we’ll cover the costs of emergency transport and accommodation:

  • Up to $1,500 if you have Comprehensive Plus
  • Up to $1,000 if you have Comprehensive
  • Up to $750 if you have Comprehensive Basics or Third Party Fire & Theft.

To make sure you’re covered, let us know before arranging your transport and/or emergency accommodation.

For more information, see our Product Disclosure Statement.

Important note for customers in NSW, Queensland, Tasmania and the ACT:

If your policy was

  • First purchased before 21 April 2024 and not yet renewed
  • Last renewed before 1 July 2024

your cover will be different. Call us on 132 132.
