What’s the difference between MAI Insurance and Comprehensive Car Insurance in the ACT?

MAI Insurance and Comprehensive Car Insurance are different.

You need MAI Insurance to register your vehicle in the Australian Capital Territory, and it covers injuries if you cause a road accident.

Comprehensive Car Insurance is optional and covers certain things that your MAI Insurance doesn’t. It covers your car for accidental damage, collision or crash, severe weather, theft, vandalism and malicious acts.
