Get your international drivers licence from NRMA*

If you’re a driver from NSW or ACT and planning to drive while you’re overseas, you may need an International Driving Permit

Driving overseas?

You might need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP), also known as an international drivers licence.

If you're renting or driving a car overseas, an IDP means you don’t need to apply for a licence in the country you’re visiting. It's also useful as photo ID.

Pick one up from a participating branch or apply online to receive it in as few as five business days (through Domestic Express Post).

I'm leaving in less than five days, what do I do?

Pick up an IDP from a participating branch. Use the branch finder to see the closest branch to you that can help you get an IDP.
